Vision and Values

Every learner in our Trust is inspired and enabled to be the best they can be.

Our Trust is committed to promoting:

Health, happiness and wellbeing

A safe, disciplined and supportive environment

A love of learning through a passionate and committed approach

High standards and expectations

Integrity, kindness and good manners

Respect for individuality and difference

Collaborative working to secure excellence

These values underpin everything we do as a Trust, as we strive for excellence and work together to ensure every learner is enabled to be the best they can be.

Areté Learning Trust has 4 key aims:

Trust Growth and Strategic Ambition

Areté Learning Trust’s strategic approach to growth is driven by a clear ambition: to improve the lives and life chances of more children and young people.

We work towards this ambition by:

  • Improving the performance and sustainability of our schools
  • Providing training and support for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) trainees, and contributing to the regional supply of high-quality Early Career Teachers
  • Embracing opportunities to act as system leaders through strategic partnerships, including our role as a delivery partner for the Red Kite Teaching School Hub and through offering traded services to other schools and trusts
  • Attracting new schools to join Areté Learning Trust where there is a shared commitment to our values and approach

What We Are Working Towards

As a Trust, we aim to:

  • Be a learning organisation that is ambitious for our young people, staff and communities, and committed to continual improvement
  • Act in moral, ethical and evidence-informed ways to support and educate learners
  • Create an equitable Trust in which every school and every learner can thrive, with regular evaluation of the impact of our work
  • Focus on sustainability, long-term planning and a strong legacy mindset, while managing risk to enable innovation and growth
  • Use digital technology effectively to improve efficiency and impact
  • Support staff wellbeing and promote a healthy work-life balance
  • Ensure resources are directed where they make the greatest difference for learners, embedding improvement and innovation as normal practice
  • Be an organisation where leadership is strong, authentic and developed at all levels, creating a pipeline of future leaders
  • Ensure every child learns in a safe, stimulating and well-resourced environment
