Statutory Governance
Information

Areté Learning Trust operates a robust governance and organisational framework to ensure effective strategic oversight, accountability and operational excellence across all schools.

Governance is led by the Trust Board, supported by committees with responsibility for education, personnel, finance and estates, and audit and risk. Local School Committees provide important school-level insight, support and challenge.

The Areté Learning Trust governance structure establishes clear lines of accountability, oversight and scrutiny at three levels:

  • Trust Members
  • Board of Trustees and Committees
  • Local School Committees

Core Functions of Governance

This governance structure is designed to support the core functions of governance by:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the Trust and its pupils, and for the performance management of staff
  • Overseeing and ensuring effective financial performance and probity

Trustees and Members can be contacted via the Trust Governance Manager.
